From Jeje to Beut

June 24, 2017

Hello, gladiators!

Yes, you read it right! This new post is all about how I become such a beut, well for me, from being such a jeje.

Having been one, let me define a jeje person. Born as a simple baby, growing and coping about what societal norms dictated. Growing up in such environment where you should only be doing and learning the same thing is never enough for them. That is why they deviated from such norms to form a bewildering form of learning. These learnings explain through communicationon how they construct their messages, poses for picture-taking, and clothing&hairstyle.

"e0wz p03zhx"

"mUzT4H n U"
"w3r n U, d2 n me"

All of those "words" are considered as jeje. I'll admit, I did use the first one but on a simpler construction, eow po. Why did I resort to being jeje back then? Actually, I did not know that jeje exists by that time. I simply want to make sending replies a lot faster. It might look like I'm consuming more time replying but I actually did not notice it back then since I'm enjoying typing m replies. I used a lot of punctuations to make the replies more interesting. Essentially, I did not become fully jeje based on communication since I did not use numbers to spice up my conversation with others.

As popularized by this photo, this is the Jejemon fashion.

As you'll see in the following photos, I somewhat aced my editing & po skills. Kidding aside, I may not exhibit the most jeje poses that have gone viral but for me, these pictures are cringe worthy. Jeje for me in terms of taking a picture is when you do cringe-worthy poses, closeup shots, excessive use of stickers/texts with an awful font style. For this part, I correlate jeje-ness to being too "nene."

Now the question is how did I turn myself around?

Simple, time. No matter what it is that you want to achieve, it takes a lot of time to fulfill that goal. Well, that is if you want it to last. Anything that you attained in such a rush would never last. Me being somewhat a part of the jeje culture only tell that I am a versatile person. Being able to cope with what my surroundings are imparting towards me is one of my, what can I say, great personality?

Also, mistakes are your good teacher. As time passed, I reviewed my photos and the way I communicate with others through text. I literally laughed my ass out comparing them to my present photos and form of conversation. Questioning myself, "Why did I ever do that?"

My way of replying improved a lot, I must say. Being involved around people who are educated enough who despise the incorrect use of grammar helped a lot to improve the construction of my replies. For me, it's awful to be judged on your lack of comprehensive communication skill especially if you're a part of a well-known school.

To add, take criticisms as a way of improving yourself. Whenever someone says that I don't look that good on a certain clothing, I'll assess if they are right and from that, I'll decide whether to keep that look or not. It's important to take note of what others say but it will not dictate on who you will be as a person. So, take your time. You might be a late bloomer. Remember, never let other's negative opinion get into you.
